Featured Project:
Development & Education of Risk Management for the Ct Women in Agriculture Network

(08.18.2008)

Project Director(s): Jaime Smith and Candace Bartholomew
Institution: Ct Department of Agriculture
Funding Awarded: 2007

In response to the large number of women-owned agribusinesses in Connecticut, and by modeling other successful WAgN programs in Vermont and Maine, the CT Women’s Agricultural Network was established. Project cooperators and women entrepreneurs across Connecticut comprise the steering committee that developed the program of work.

WAgN provided women with the opportunity to learn risk management practices and encouraged them to network and learn from one another. WAgN participants were also made aware of and encouraged to attend other previously established risk management programs.
