PROJECT SUMMARY
Personnel management is critical for many Texas High Plains and Oklahoma Panhandle agribusinesses. They are continually having problems with a vast array of personnel issues such as; recruitment, retention, termination, legal considerations, communication and diverse employee cultural backgrounds. The project objective is to present a two-day conference to assist agribusinesses to become better equipped to deal with personnel issues they face daily.
While conference participation will be open to all agribusinesses, commercial farming and ranching operations, Cattle and Swine Confined Animal Feeding Operations and Dairy operations will be specifically targeted. Representatives of these segments will serve on an advisory committee to insure all relevant personnel issues they face are addressed. The project will be evaluated by the number of participants registered and the knowledge they gained from attending the conference. A six month post workshop survey is planned to determine the level of implementation of personnel management techniques learned.
