| PROJECT SUMMARY |
| This project included a comprehensive approach to risk management education by providing outreach education to small, African American, women, Mennonite, Appalachian, and limited-resource farmers by building on, and enhancing, Kentucky State University´s existing program efforts including partial support of the Small, Limited-Resource-Minority Farmers Conference, selected "Third Thursday" workshops, and taking farmers to the Southern SAWG conference. The project included paraprofessional, family, and farmer training in the areas of financial risk management, production and marketing risk management, family living, alternative farm enterprises, marketing and alternative marketing systems, and alternative production systems. Paraprofessional training workshops equiped some 75 paraprofessionals to assist their program families. |
