| PROJECT SUMMARY |
| The North Alabama Risk Management Education Program was initiated in order to increase participation of small and limited resource farmers in crop insurance programs. The project was also conceived out the need to assist these producers cope with increasing uncertainty and variability in weather, yields and product prices. This project has been more than successful. The project is currently able to reach over 500 producers, mainly small and socially disadvantaged farmers. We continue to train them how to use risk management tools and access information for production and marketing decision making. |
