PROJECT SUMMARY
The Puerto Rico Agricultural Extension Service (PRAES) will implement a project to develop case farms on major commodities produced in PR (Dairy, Poultry, Plantain and Bananas, Coffee, Horticultural Specialties, and Vegetable and Fruit Crops), and carry out a risk management training workshops for farmers. These training sessions will be divided into two stages; one for reviewing up on accounting and financial (3 sessions), and risk management concepts (5 sessions) and the other on FINPACK software training (3 sessions). We will select 100 farmers among the previous commodities to participate on a workshops. We feel strongly that farmers will be able to improve the business and strategic planning skills, so they can better respond to the exyernal factors.
