PROJECT SUMMARY
Successful marketing models were identified within the Federation of Southern Cooperatives/Land Assistance Fund’s network across the south. These were models from the Federation/LAF membership who are Black and a largely limited resource farmer population. Once these case studies of marketing models were identified they were described in written form and disseminated to the Federation’s 75 cooperative members. Workshops in four states will then be organized by the state association of cooperatives in South Carolina, Georgia, Mississippi and Texas. These workshops focused on the marketing case studies, how they can be implemented, improved and adapted to the limited resource farming populations in the identified states. Attention was drawn to the importance of keeping records and the development of marketing plans.
