| PROJECT SUMMARY |
This project addresses the production, price, and financial risk associated with sustaining profitability under the 2002 Farm Bill. New conservation provisions and commodity marketing will be the two major educational programs delivered to County Extension Agents. Workshops will include power-point presentations, hands-on exercises, participant feedback, and evaluation. Approximately 40 agents will participate from the Delta District of Eastern Arkansas and approximately 20 from the Ouachita and Ozark Districts, respectively. One commodity marketing and one conservation provisions workshop will be conducted in each of three districts (six total). More may be conducted as funds allow. It is expected that participants will obtain a more advanced understanding of commodity marketing and be better prepared to advise clientele on the availability and requirements of new conservation provisions. Since the purpose is to advance the knowledge of agents in the specified topics, 100 percent of the participants are expected to achieve this result.
