PROJECT SUMMARY
This proposed project combines two successful programs. First, Oklahoma State University has a history of creating successful video streaming of their financial management education. The Texas team has been successful in teaching managerial accounting using QuickBooks Pro. Good accounting records are at the foundation of a good risk management program. Managerial accounting adjusts cash records through accrual adjustments and absorbs all costs including overhead and management labor. During 2004, Texas team members conducted workshops to teach and implement managerial accounting. The response from participants was overwhelming. The purpose of this proposal is to develop twelve lessons focused on QuickBooks Pro and managerial accounting. Multiple media will be used (text, PPT, screen captures, video streaming) in developing content for a website and CD-ROMs for those without high-speed internet connections. These lessons will cover the basics of setting up QuickBooks Pro so managerial accounting can be utilized by producers to assess their risk management strategies.
