| PROJECT SUMMARY |
This project trained 1890 professionals and paraprofessionals on the Risk-Assessed Business Planning for Small Producers risk management education curriculum. They then used the materials to train small, minority, and limited resource farmers in their respective states. Each 1890 Land Grant Extension Program plus Tuskegee University received the educational materials plus 39 individuals (specialists) were trained at a regional hands-on workshop/conference. These specialists then returned to train county agents, extension paraprofessionals, and farmers.
Additionally, Kentucky State University and Prairie View A&M University provided statewide training programs for small, women, minority, Mennonite, and limited resource farmers. These trainings included the Risk Assessed Business Planning for Small Producers materials, production, marketing, value-added, family financial management, and/or alternative farm enterprises.
