PROJECT SUMMARY
Meat goat numbers in Oklahoma have been steadily increasing for the last several years. As the numbers of meat goats increased so has the need for educational programming related to meat goat production, management and marketing. The Oklahoma Meat Goat Educational Program would be a program that would target both youth and adult producers wanting to learn the basics about meat goat production, management and marketing. This project will use written and web based publications, adult and youth workshops, and one-on-one consulting with producers wanting to increase their knowledge and use of meat goat production, management and marketing skills. This program will be conducted across Oklahoma with an estimated 350 adult producers completing the multi session workshops and 150 youth attending the clinics.
