PROJECT SUMMARY
This project proposes to package farm bill programs, market outlook, crop insurance, and crop acreage decisions. Sources of risk include market prices, yields, and program payments. Risk management tools include crop insurance, contracting, use of futures markets, marketing assistance loans, and other government support program payments.

Crop enterprise budgets and decision aids will be developed to assist producers to understand risks and improve decisions. A whole-farm budget/decision aid will be developed incorporating acreage mix, price and yield, crop insurance, and government programs into farm returns and risk. Meetings and workshops will be held educating producers on market outlook, marketing strategies, crop insurance, and the 2007 farm bill. Participants will receive hands-on training utilizing decision aids and enterprise budgets given price outlook, crop insurance, and farm bill parameters. Producers will make better decisions considering overall revenue risks.

Educational materials will be developed. Training will be provided for Extension agents and lenders.
