PROJECT SUMMARY
Idaho Grain Marketing and Risk Management Education Project has continued to build on six successful years of training offered to Idaho grain producers. More than 1,250 Idaho producers have participated in these previous training workshops (2001-2006).

This year we focused on (1) expanding the training tools available to producers at their farms year-round by developing an Idaho- specific computer simulation game (subcontract with Decision Analytics to modify their wheat game for Idaho barley and wheat); (2) developed and offered another round of advanced grain marketing workshops in several locations in Idaho, including the Winning the Game workshops in northern ID; and (3) disseminated current market outlook and analysis through the weekly Idaho Grain Market Report.

The Barley Simulation Game is now available to other barley producing states for their use in risk management training.
