PROJECT SUMMARY
Northwest wine producers will have the opportunity to a; ) participate in four educational seminars relative to lending, insurance, contracts, and marketing plans; b) receive “meat and potatoes,” hands-on training on how to manage contract and marketing plan risks; c) create templates for generating their own marketing plan(s) and contract(s) appropriate for their unique circumstances; d) identify resources available to further risk management efforts, and e) obtain a personal copy of the “riskbuster” curriculum. Three entities, one each in OR, ID, and WA, will receive on-going facilitation and guidance as they fully develop their marketing plan. Project staff will conduct a follow-up contact with the seminar participants and industry representatives to measure the amount of progress producers have made towards “being able to sleep better at night” and managing/minimizing risks via knowing and implementing contract and marketing plan tools.
