| PROJECT SUMMARY |
This project was designed to help people learn risk management skills using both cognitive and experiential learning methodologies. Targeted audiences included producers in the San Luis Valley, northern Colorado, and northeastern Colorado (especially women).
A series of four seminars focused on financial management, personal preferences for risk, marketing strategies, and investment diversification. Computer simulation models and internet sites were used to further understanding of risk management principals.
The willingness of producers to commit to a series of workshops is dramatically decreasing in today’s hectic society. There are myriad demands for their valuable time. Consequently, the planned series of workshops was conducted only in the San Luis Valley.
At the request of producers unable to attend workshops and of Extension agents, each workshop was videotaped. The tapes was made available to producers. Also, the video will be digitized, burned to DVD format, and made available via Extension offices. |
