| PROJECT SUMMARY |
| This project addresses the business risk associated with a less than full understanding of the portfolio of risk management options available to cotton producers and their service industry providers and failure to commit to a written marketing plan based on individual objectives and preferences. Target participants will attend a 1.5 day seminar designed to provide increased understanding of the options available to develop a written marketing plan including futures, options, hedging, pricing strategy, government programs, insurance and supply/demand fundamentals. The class size will be limited to 30 participants made up of cotton producers and/or producers with diversified farming operations, gin managers and lenders from the Central San Joaquin Valley counties of Kern, Kings and Fresno.
