PROJECT SUMMARY
The proposed project addressed the economic advantages and risk associated with the use and adoption of new production technology, i.e., site-specific farming or precision farming. Program participants included farmers and their family members in Eastern, and Southern part of Colorado, the major agricultural production areas of the state. These participants attended three (3) on-site field days and tour of farms utilizing site-specific farming, and 2 hands-on workshops. Participants were able to attain a comprehensive understanding of the economic advantages and risks associated with site-specific farming practices; develop proficiency in hands-on skills needed to document proven yield and make better crop production and management decisions. It is anticipated that approximately 40 or more participants will make changes to their operations as suggested in this educational effort.
