PROJECT SUMMARY
The central purpose of this project is to improve the economic viability, livelihood, and quality of life of Native American farmers residing in the Pueblos of Acoma and Laguna, as well as farmers residing in the surrounding rural communities. The goal of this project is to develop and/or expand the crop analysis, crop yield analysis and marketing skills the farmers, who often have limited resources and are traditionally underserved. Farmers will be recruited to participate in a series of educational sessions that will cover the topics of crop analysis, crop yield analysis, and development of marketing plans, with a focus on growing and selling their produce at farmer’s markets, including information about consumer preferences, crop selection and pricing.
