PROJECT SUMMARY
This project helped to reduce financial and production risks by providing Crop Profitability Analysis (CPA) and Equitable Crop Lease (ECL) software users a DVD to increase their understanding of software and computer operations, economic theory and financial terminology at their own pace, time and location. Past training efforts have focused on face-to-face, county-based programming. This DVD allowed educators to enhance the CPA and ECL training sessions and reach users that were not traditional clientele, such as agricultural lenders, accountants and absentee landowners.

Behavioral changes were measured from three groups - 1) those that participated in CPA or ECL workshops and didn’t receive a DVD from this project, 2) those that participated in CPA or ECL workshops and did receive a DVD, 3) those who only received a DVD when they downloaded the programs from the Internet. This information will provide direction for future efforts in farm management education.
