Summary
PROJECT SUMMARY
This project will serve as an extension of previous risk management education for farmers residing in American Samoa, to provide extensive one-on-one consultations for the 220 participants of the previous risk management project. The project will take those that wanted to implement record keeping or develop new marketing strategies but did not and carry them on the next step – that of actually keeping financial records or actually developing the new marketing strategy and implementing them or adopting a risk management strategy. The project will also take those who began record keeping practices, and those who developed new marketing strategies, the next step to develop complete business plans that can be submitted for loans. Lastly the project will also work with those who completed business plans and submitted them for loans but were rejected. It is the intent of the project to help participants get loans for their small businesses. It is the intent that forms from the various lending/assistance organizations be translated to aid the Samoan and Tongan farmers.
